Camera GripTools MIDI released for Mac!

Camera GripTools MIDI enables you to use MIDI hardware with MAXON CINEMA 4D. Applying the “Camera GripTools concept”, this plugin offers the same functionality and control modes as the other versions of GripTools.

How the plugin appears in CINEMA 4D

Using MIDI hardware in CINEMA 4D opens a whole new world of possibilities! You can use MIDI devices having faders, rotary encoders, buttons and more. You can choose from a wide range of MIDI hardware manufacturers, like JL Cooper, Behringer, M-Audio, etc. etc.

We’re looking for Mac testers

Until now, the Camera GripTools plugin for CINEMA 4D was only compatible with Windows PC’s. However, seeing a high demand for our plugin from Mac users, we’ve developed a version of our plugin for Mac OS X.

Development is now in testing stage. We need to test the plugin on various Mac computers, various OS X versions and a wide range of game controllers.

Therefore we need you!

Wiimote Tester utility released

The Wiimote support in GripTools is experimental, and not supported on all systems. This depends on the combination of hardware (BlueTooth dongles) and software (Windows version / BlueTooth drivers) you’re using.

Therefore, we released a small test utility, so you can check out if your system is able to connect & use the Wiimote properly. When it works with your hard/software, it simulates a rotating/moving 3D Wiimote on your screen. You can also see the button and plugin-expansion status. It supports multiple connected Wiimotes, as well as the Nunchuck and Classic-controller expansions.

This utility offers you the indication that your Wiimote will also work in CINEMA 4D with the Camera GripTools plugin.

Demo updated

We’ve updated the GripTools Demo version.

Previously, it was only possible to use the first 3 listed axes of your device in the demo. Now, you are able to use all the axes of your (joystick) device, but only 3 at the same time.

Camera GripTools released!

We have finally released our Camera GripTools plugin for CINEMA 4D!
It’s been a long time and a hard job, but here it is (and fully compatible with R11)!

Make sure to check out the demo version and the tutorial video’s.
The complete version is now for sale in the online store.
The complete version can:

  • Record all your motion to keyframes..
  • Use large amounts of input axes and multiple joysticks.
  • Use C4D’s XPresso system to control anything you want.
  • Make use of additional hardware (like the BCF2000 MIDI fader panel, Patriot 3D tracker, Wiimote, Track IR 4-pro, and more to be expected…)

There are some known limitations in this release:

  • The mode of an object with a GripTools Tag can jump to “Off” at certain actions in C4D. You can continue using it afterwards.
  • CINEMA 4D in Full-Screen is currently not supported.
  • The “Display” in the GripTools window has some minor updating problems in XP, this is not the case in Windows Vista.
